Anti-Wrinkle Treatments with St. John's Dental Practise

Treatments using filler injections or skin peels can smooth the facial lines once they have already formed. The primary aim of wrinkle removal injections is to break the habit of frowning and to re-educate the facial muscles so that the tendency to frown is lost.

Azzalure

Azzalure is used to inject specific areas of the face to relax the muscles of the face and ease out lines and wrinkles. The most popular treatment areas are:

Firstly, you will have a consultation with one of our medical practitioners. If you decide to have treatment, the surgeon will ask you to frown hard so that your individual, exact pattern of forehead and frown movement becomes visible, the areas to be treated are cleansed, and wrinkle removal injections are administered with a very fine needle in appropriate doses to give the required result.

  • How many treatments will you need?

    The effects can last three to four months and then repeat injections will be needed to maintain the effects.

  • What will the results be?

    The appearance of frown lines and other treated areas will be dramatically improved within 3-5 days of treatment.

  • Are there any side-effects of wrinkle removal injections?

    Approximately 10% of new patients may experience a headache for a few hours following the treatment. There will be redness at the injection site for a few minutes immediately following the treatment. Rarely, patients may experience flu–like symptoms afterwards. An eyelid ptosis (droop) is possible in 1–2% of patients but this complication is very easy to correct with eye drops. It is also possible to experience localised muscle weakness in and around the area being treated.

  • Can I have wrinkle removal injections?

    You should not have a botulinum injection treatment if you:

    • have an infection
    • are allergic to any of the ingredients
    • are pregnant or lactating or think you might be pregnant
    • have a neurological disorder (e.g.Myasthenia Gravis), or are taking drugs that interfere with neuromuscular transmission g. aminoglycosides.

  • Is the wrinkle removal procedure painful?

    No! The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes and requires no anaesthesia. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief.
